Brand Story

Caventura stands out from other coffee brands due to its personal relationship with coffee farmers. In 2018, the founder did a pro-bono project for a coffee cooperative in Colombia during a world journey. Inspired by personal connections, a profound interest in the coffee plant and its growers, and a passion for exceptional coffee, the concept of Caventura was born. 

The name is a blend of “coffee” and “aventura” (Spanish for adventure), reflecting the brand’s adventurous spirit and commitment to quality.

Logo Design

The circular form symbolizes a rising sun, evoking a sense of new beginnings and freshness, mirroring the journey of every exceptional cup of coffee that starts with green beans. This circular motif will serve as a central element, consistently woven throughout the brand’s visual language, ensuring a cohesive and distinctive identity.

Visual Identity

After extensive market research and close collaboration with the founder, a design was conceived based on the nostalgic aesthetics of the 70s - vibrant and playful, yet retaining an elegant and harmonious essence. 

Both of the selected fonts are distinctive in nature - the main title font exudes elegance and nostalgia, reminiscent of a bygone era when people were still roasting their own coffee at home. Meanwhile, the body text font is chosen to resemble a typewriter font, reflecting the founder’s passion for writing. As he personally writes articles about the coffee growers he knows, this typewriter font adds a touch of authenticity and nostalgia to the brand’s storytelling.

Hand-Drawn Portraits 

I had the incredible creative opportunity to hand-draw over 14 portraits of the coffee growers using both watercolors and digital techniques. The artistic style I employed was both expressive and realistic, perfectly embodying the essence of “real people, with their real stories” – a core brand value.

Brand Tone

The start-up presents its team authentically, using inclusive language and sharing employee stories, including their coffee preferences. 

Hand-drawn portraits of team members are a key strategy to foster a close connection between customers and the brand.

Personalized Experience

As part of the brand’s strategy, the “My Personal Caventura” campaign encouraged customers to gift personalized packaging design coffee bags to their loved ones by simply sending their photo. 

This initiative aimed to organically spread the word of specialty coffee through personal connections, handmade art, and unique gestures.

Commercial Video

Represents the main idea of the project "My Caventura"

The Illustrator (me) draws a digital portrait from a photo and puts it on the label for the coffee packaging. After That it is sent as a  surprise-present. 

Consistent Messaging 

I meticulously crafted all visual identity assets in adherence to the design manual, maintaining consistency across the board. From photography direction to social media marketing, print media design, and fair design, I ensured cohesive brand communication across all relevant touch-points.
